Here is a dresser scarf that I just finished for my mother-in-law's birthday. Her birthday is tomorrow, so I'm even on time (that hardly ever happens!). The design is done with embroidery paints, and, of course, it has hen & chicks edging.

Very nice Joy I am sure your MIL will be very happy.
Wow... what nice work... and a very lovely gift! YOUR WORK is amazing! You have talent! Can't believe you are just beginning... well, YOU ARE not just a beginner now!!!! :)
How nice and vintage looking. I love it. I have some old dishtowels I painted in the 70's with that liquid embroidery paint when I was a little girl, Tri-Chem, I think it was called. It sure was smelly stuff. I didn't even know that embroidery paint was still around. What brand of paint is that? Love the Hens and Chicks edging.
Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. I remember the tri-chem paints. The ones I use now are Aunt Martha's brand, available from Herrschner's.
