I took this idea from the April 1990 issue of Workbasket where little bunnies are displayed in tatted half-eggs. I changed the shape and the figurine and ended up with this ornament. I got a package of 12 little figurines (santas, snowment, reindeer, etc.), so I can make a few more of these if the mood strikes.

Very cute, Joy! I look forward to seeing the other ornaments you make with the little figurines you purchased.
Wow, how clever! The sparkle really shows up well when the photo is enlarged.
Hi Joy,
I remember the tatted (half) egg with the bunnies in them. I tatted a lot of them for my kids when they were little. I like your idea here and how you changed the pattern and figure to match the season.
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I followed the pattern as it was written; the adjustment in shape was achieved by starching it over a round form instead of an egg. It is actually symetrical and sort of bowl-shaped, even though the picture makes it look wonky.
Thanks!
